DOWNSIZING SPECIALS. These bucks are all 100% New Zealand and all can be DNA verified.

The new crop of kids all had a very slow start for us this year. our pasture was poor in texas, the hay of poor protein content, and we were not giving the supplement we normally do.  The does looked bad going into kidding season and our birth weights showed it. Our first month growth rates showed it as well. even with poor feed, poor browse, our goats did as well and in many cases better than the average kiko breeder for growth rates and weaning weights. These babies were not fed creep. The moms did get about a third of a pound of a corn/cotton seed mix and then we switched to a corn/oat mix that paul made up. Our browse did not start really improving till after weaning. The boys are just starting to catch up to where their weights should be.  We have done our culling and took those who did not make the grade to the meat sale. we do not keep poor quality bucks around just so they can be sold cheaper. we believe in good strong culling practices to keep the herds strong.

CPK Slim Pickens (aka clown). great muscle and color. (below). he was weaned at 90 days with a 53# weight. His average gain per day was 0.41 #s per day. i don't know what his weight is right now, but this buck is thick, muscled and very correct. You can't see his muscling under all that fuzz, but he has it as well a good length. CPK Miss Kitty will be dropping his first baby in a month or so and we are really excited. $1500

SOLD  This is CPK Virgil Earp.  He is just over a year and a half and built like a tank. he has already thrown beautiful colored babies out of a white doe. he is out of a golden boy daughter and carries great meat genetics and great color genetics.

Below is CPK Pirate, a buck that has black guard hairs, black horns, black feet. He is chunky and has good conformation. He is not the tallest of our bucks,  but has had really good daily weight gains. This buck is a Golden Boy son. His mom handled the transition to texas poorly last year and weight gains were not as good as they would have been. He has caught up well and has nice muscling and good depth. His mom is a Big Boy daughter from the Hancock farm. $1000

SOLD   (BELOW) This is CPK Rooster Cogburn ( picture taken july 11, 2009, and he is just  a year and a half old).  He is by Golden Boy out of Katie. He was 10# at birth and 70 # at 90 days (he was 79# at 110 days).  His feed for the first 4 months of life consisted of only fair quality hay and mom was fed about 1/3 # of oats and whole corn once a day during that time.  There was no creep feed for the babies (just what they snitched before the does ate it all).  He has stayed the tallest and longest of all the babies born that season.
